Pest Control
The most common pests to attack lawns are chafer grubs and Leatherjackets. They can cause severe damage to lawns when feeding on the grass roots between Autumn and Spring.
Signs of a Pest Problem
- Crane Flies on the lawn which indicate they are laying eggs which will become Leatherjackets.
- Large birds (crows, magpies and starlings) feeding on an area of lawn.
- Chafer Grubs seen on the soil.
- Dead or brown patches of grass.
- In severe cases of infestation turf can roll up like a carpet.

It is not always possible to protect lawns from lawn disease or fungal attack because the pathogens that cause the infection are naturally found within the soil in which the grass grows. It is only when conditions are right that the pathogen attacks the grass causing an infection. Discount Lawn Care are experts at controlling fungi, contact us if you think you have a problem.
